Every year, a dedicated Foundation volunteer designs and crafts a one-of-a-kind quilt. Vera Bradley enthusiasts and Foundation supporters delight in entering for a chance to win. The winner is drawn in June.
The 2024 quilt was made with the Vera Bradley Botanical Paisley Pink and Botanical Ditsy Pink patterns and is 77” x 77” in size.

The Making of the 2024 Quilt
The Quilter, Erica Friend
From a young age, Erica has been sewing. Beginning with Troll doll clothes made from felt, to constructing her first quilt in third grade, she has always had a few creative projects in the works. Born in Champaign, IL and moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1990, she’s been deeply rooted in the midwest, including attending Purdue University in West Lafayette. Erica received a Bachelor of Science degree in interior design and since graduation has worked in real estate, home construction, and design. In 2015, she decided to pursue her sewing passion full time, focusing on quilting, pillows, and dance costumes, and thus ELF and Company was born—the “company” being her trusty furry sidekick, Bibi. Erica’s work has been featured on RJR’s What Shade are You blog, @52quilters on Instagram, and is currently in her sixth year partnering with the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Quilt with a Cause.
While completing the 2018 Quilt With a Cause, Erica found out her best friend from college, Faith, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Erica was blessed to be able to spend time that spring and summer visiting Faith often and keeping her company during doctor appointments and chemo treatments! The Quilt with a Cause has taken on a new purpose for Erica, and she looks forward to creating many more in years to come!
