2020 Classic and Turn the Town Pink

FOUNDATION EVENTS CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19 CONCERNS

Please read the FAQ’s below before completing your Classic Refund Request Form

Message from the Director

We have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Classic and our Turn the Town Pink campaign. Without knowing the full extent of the impact the COVID-19 crisis will have on our country in the coming weeks and months, we feel it is best to make this decision now for a number of reasons.

First and foremost, we are concerned for the health and well-being of our donors, participants and the great number of volunteers needed to run an event as large and complex as the Classic. While breast cancer research continues to be vitally important, we also want to be sensitive to the significant financial impact this unprecedented situation will have on our communities and the businesses and individuals who give so generously to our cause.

As you can imagine, we are still in the process of finalizing details and notifying all of our event stakeholders.

I was reminded on a phone call yesterday that, “The sun WILL come out tomorrow! Stay positive as there are brighter days ahead.” Indeed it will, and we will continue our mission to raise funds for research to find a cure and improve the lives of the many affected by breast cancer.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. We’ll be thinking of you and your family’s well-being as we navigate the challenging days ahead.

Lynda Houk,
Executive Director, Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer

Why not wait longer before cancelling?

Without knowing the full extent of the impact the COVID-19 crisis will have on our country in the coming weeks and months, we feel it’s best to make this decision now for a number of reasons.

  • First and foremost, we are concerned for the health and well-being of our participants, donors, host venues, and the great volume of volunteers needed to run an event of this magnitude. Classic is comprised of six events spread over five days and involves more than 2,500 guests, players and volunteers.

  • We think it wouldn’t be the right thing to do, to promote an event involving hundreds of people—and in total, thousands—at a time when we are called to not gather. May and June are fast approaching.

  • We invest a great amount of human and financial resources into these events starting in January. The longer we wait to cancel, it potentially equates to less support to the amazing research happening in the labs.

  • While breast cancer research continues to be vitally important, we want to be sensitive to the great financial impact this unprecedented situation will have on our communities and to the businesses and individuals who give so generously to our cause.

I don't see my question here — where can I get additional answers?

Please be patient with us while we refine the details. Visit this page periodically as we will continually update the FAQ’s. If you have additional questions or concerns that need an immediate response, please send us an email at foundation@verabradley.com.

We value your support and continue to raise funds for breast cancer research.
