The Race Across America is one of the most respected and longest running annual endurance events. The over 3,000-mile race starts in Oceanside, California, and ends in Annapolis, Maryland (see map). The goal is to race across the country in six days relay style non-stop. In the 2009 race, breast cancer survivors Beth Goldsmith and Lisa Friedman along with six men came together to form Team Vera Bradley, raising funds and awareness for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer and breast cancer research.
