Be Pretty in Pink at Every Age
It's easy if you stick to a few basic rules.
Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 2, 2008) —
In your 20's
- Make a bold statement with fun color combinations, such as pink and green or pink and orange.
- Try deep saturated pinks to create a more polished look.
- Create instant presence in pink dresses and skirts. Pair a pink A-line skirt with trendy knee-high boots. Fun!
In your 30's
- Pair pink with solid neutrals such as white, brown, khaki, olive or navy.
- Add subtle sparkle with pink accessories such as pink-hued stone stud earrings.
- Combine a pink button-down shirt with denim for a fresh, casual outfit.
In your 40's
- Layer a pink camisole underneath a suit for a softer look.
- Combine a pink turtleneck with a pencil skirt. Trés chic!
- Create a slim silhouette with flat front pants (no pleats) and a frilly pink blouse.
In your 50's
60's Plus
- Keep your look demure with a beautiful pink silk scarf around your neck.
- For a shot of color, accessorize with a pink belt, light pink pearls or a patterned purse that has hints of pink.
- Tie a pink cardigan around your shoulders. Modern and sophisticated!
Men can wear pink, too!
“Men who wear pink send the message that they’re confident,” says Mindi Smith, wardrobe stylist for Ford Artists in New York City. “It shows they’re comfortable in their own skin.” And if that’s not enough to convince you to try pink, wearing pink is also a chance to show your support for breast cancer awareness. So go ahead…pull on that crew neck sweater in salmon, that azalea polo shirt or that light pink cashmere sweater tucked in the back of your closet. Wherever your pink leads you, you’ll look manly and marvelous!
