Fort Wayne Turns Pink for the Cause

Fort Wayne, Indiana — Fort Wayne turned shades of pink on Friday as Foundation volunteers hung pink ribbons throughout downtown to promote breast cancer awareness with special help from the TinCaps, Johnny Appleseed and Miss Fort Wayne showing their support. Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry also delivered his annual proclamation in honor of the Foundation. Next, the Foundation will begin decorating neighborhoods throughout the city.

Each pink ribbon carries the name of a loved one affected by breast cancer.

Already, the Turn the Town Pink campaign has raised nearly $40,000, all of which will be donated to benefit breast cancer research at the Vera Bradley Foundation for Research Laboratories at the Indiana University SImon Cancer Center in Indianapolis.

For a list of upcoming events, check out the Turn the Town Pink Schedule. Join us! We'd love to see you there.
