Tickled Pink Raises More than $50,000 for the Foundation

Fort Wayne, Indiana — The theme of the evening - pink! The cause – breast cancer awareness! More than 500 lovely ladies dressed in their favorite pink outfits attended the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer’s 7th annual Tickled Pink event to help raise nearly $54,000 for breast cancer research.

Tickled Pink
The ladies turned out in their prettiest pink attire to benefit breast cancer research.

“Tickled Pink is a chance to celebrate our girlfriends who battle breast cancer as well as those who are committed to ending it,” said Catherine Hill, executive director of the Vera Bradley Foundation. “A big thank you to the generosity of our sponsors, Manpower and CWC Logistics, and the amazing support of our 22 hospitality sponsors and 65 volunteers for making this spectacular event possible!”

For the annual Girl’s Night Out event, Vera Bradley transformed its state-of-the-art operations and distribution center in Roanoke, Indiana, into a world of pink for the evening with flowers, cocktails, lighting and other décor.

The ladies all enjoyed the live performance by Ryan Star, who wooed the crowd with hits off his new album “11:59.” “Star ‘rocked the house’ with his special tribute to all of our girlfriends,” said Hill. “He even flirted with a couple of good looking grandmas and snapped a picture of the crowd for his Facebook page!”

Throughout the night guests also had the opportunity at a sneak peek of Vera Bradley’s upcoming collections and a silent auction, with prized items such as an autographed guitar by singer Melissa Etheridge, a breast cancer survivor.

At the conclusion of the evening, Hill presented a check in the amount of $2.25 million from the year’s fundraising efforts to the team of researchers representing the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Research Laboratories. As a memorable keepsake, all guests took home an All In one Wristlet in breast cancer awareness pattern Loves Me …
