Turning the Town Pink
Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 17, 2010) — Fort Wayne is blushing these days as the Vera Bradley Foundation “turned the town pink” Friday, May 14. Vera Bradley employees, TinCaps baseball players and TinCaps mascot Johnny Appleseed came out to help the Vera Bradley Foundation kick off its annual Turn the Town Pink campaign by tieing nearly 1,000 pink ribbons throughout downtown, including Headwaters Park, One Summit Square and surrounding areas.

Vera Bradley employees helped kick off the Foundation’s Turn the Town Pink campaign.
“It’s a very special day for all of the Vera Bradley employees. Seeing a different name on every ribbon as we hang them reminds us all of the many people supporting this important research,” said Foundation Executive Director Catherine Hill.
For a $5 donation, you can donate a ribbon in honor of a loved one as a visual reminder of what everyone can do to help raise breast cancer awareness. The money raised goes directly to funding research at the Vera Bradley Center for Breast Cancer Research Laboratories at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis.
Upcoming events include a Fort Wayne TinCaps “PINK” game at TinCaps Stadium with a Mayoral Proclamation beforehand Thursday, May 27, and a free concert featuring the band Urban Legends at Jefferson Pointe Friday, May 28. For details visit turnthetownpink.org.
