Quilted with Love: Meet designer Jennie Blume
Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 5, 2010) — Fort Wayne-native Jennie Blume loves to quilt and loves Vera Bradley fabrics. Six years ago, she proposed creating a special quilt to benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. “Making quilts is something I love to do. It’s fun to be able to do something you love for a good cause,” says Blume, who has volunteered for the Foundation and played tennis in the Vera Bradley Classic Golf and Tennis Tournament for many years.

Now, every year, an exclusive “Blume” quilt is built into the Foundation’s fundraising plan. Last year nearly $8,000 was raised through sales of tickets for Blume’s quilt in Hope Garden. This year’s one-of-a-kind quilt in the new breast cancer awareness color Loves Me … is now making its way across the country.
Already the quilt has journeyed to FanFest in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and to Vera Bradley Stores in McLean, Virginia; Cincinnati, Ohio; Leawood, Kansas; Southlake, Texas; and San Antonio, Texas. The quilt made its way back to Fort Wayne where it was proudly displayed at the annual Vera Bradley Outlet Sale and is currently being shown at Vera Bradley at Jefferson Pointe through May 21.
Its next stop will be at the Vera Bradley Golf and Tennis Tournament in Fort Wayne in June before it is raffled off to one lucky person.
You can enter to win the quilt at any Vera Bradley Store through June 10.
