Vera Bradley Outlet Sale Raises Funds for the Foundation
Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 8, 2009) — Shoppers opened their hearts and wallets for the cause at the 2009 Spring Vera Bradley Outlet Sale. T-shirts, sweatshirts, a quilt, a cookbook and more all helped raise more than $34,000 for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer during the Outlet Sale in Fort Wane, Indiana, April 30 - May 3.
“With nearly 60,000 people in attendance from around the world, we couldn’t be happier about having the Outlet Sale as opportunity to invite more friends to find out about the Foundation and get involved in supporting us,” says Catherine Hill, Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Executive Director.
Vera Bradley fans had the chance to Enter to Win a one-of-a-kind handmade Vera Bradley quilt in the Hope Garden pattern with a $2 donation to the Foundation. Donations came in steadily throughout the Sale, and alone raised about $1,000 a day. (It’s not too late to Enter to Win the quilt at Vera Bradley Stores, with a $2 donation.) The Foundation also sold cute T-shirts, sweatshirts, caps and visors, and sold out by Friday.
At checkout, shoppers were able to make a donation as well. In fact, one person made a $300 donation at the cash register. And on Saturday, the crowds received a nice surprise when Vera Bradley Co-founder Patricia R. Miller joined the Foundation in their efforts by signing Vera Bradley’s cookbook “Cooking With Friends” for a $10 donation, while also enjoying a free copy of the Foundation’s annual magazine.
Fun, friends, shopping for a great cause – what a wonderful weekend!
