Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Takes to the East Coast
Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 22, 2008) — A special 10-day event to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research kicks off September 19 as Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Development Ambassador Heidi Floyd travels to seven cites across the Mid-Atlantic. Heidi’s goal is to share her story with as many people as possible and inspire everyone who crosses her path to believe in hope for a future without breast cancer. The research funded in part by the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer helped save her life and the life of her son. (Heidi went through chemotherapy while she was pregnant). The “Hope Trail” will feature luncheons, in-store events and even a 5K walk/run.
“Each city on the Hope Trail will be unique in what it offers,” says Executive Director of the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Catherine Hill. “All of the people behind every event are donating time, energy and funds to make the Mid-Atlantic portion of the Hope Trail a truly spectacular event.”
Proceeds from each event will go towards the Foundation’s current $10 million pledge to the Breast Cancer research team at the world-renowned Indiana University Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis.
