Delta Goodrem to appear at Fort Wayne Fundraiser
Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 26, 2008) — Australian pop star to sing at Vera Bradley’s Tickled Pink 2008
Australian pop star Delta Goodrem will be making her debut appearance in Fort Wayne on Friday, October 3, 2008, at the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer’s fifth annual Tickled Pink Girls’ Night Out. The 23-year old singing sensation’s debut album in the U.S., Delta, topped the charts when it was released in July. On September 24, she performed on Late Show with David Letterman. She sang a song called “Possessionless,” which talks of how chemotherapy taught her what’s important in life. (She was diagnosed and treated for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2003.) Delta is committed to utilizing her talents to help raise funds and awareness for cancer research.
“It will be an amazing addition to our evening,” said Catherine Hill, executive director of the Vera Bradley Foundation. Hill said Delta is slated to perform at the entrance as guests arrive. “Our eager guests have historically lined up at the entrance about 30 minutes before the party begins.”
Miss Goodrem will stay and enjoy the party and perform again on stage later in the evening.
Tickled Pink is a ladies only benefit evening for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. Hosted by Vera Bradley at their state-of-the art operations and distribution facility, guests will enjoy a sneak peak of the Spring 2009 Vera Bradley collection, meet Vera Bradley owners Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and Patricia Miller, visit with researchers and clinicians from the Vera Bradley Center for Breast Cancer Research, enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction and receive an exclusive Vera Bradley silk handbag.
