Retailer Makes the Right “Step Toward a Cure”

Seekonk, MA — Linda Warzycha, owner of The Paper Scene (a Vera Bradley retailer in Seekonk, MA) knows all too well the toll breast cancer can take. She lost her dear friend Carol Girard to this terrible disease.

With Carol on her mind, Linda organized a walk to raise funds for The Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer in October of 2006. And what a fundraiser it was! Participants in the five-mile “Step Toward a Cure” walk raised more than $20,000.

One hundred women, men and children – even their dogs – wore pink ribbons and took to the streets of Seekonk in memory and in honor of friends and loved ones. After the walk, the store hosted a lunch and raffle.

“Step Toward a Cure” was a loving and inspirational event for all involved. Thank you, Linda, for your dedication and leadership!
