Committed to the Cause: Nationwide Foundation Events in October
(October 4, 2007) — On September 22, the Fort Wayne Wizards (Fort Wayne, Indiana) “pitched” in to promote breast cancer awareness and raise funds for the Foundation by donning pink jerseys for their double header against the South Bend (Indiana) Silver Hawks. Fans were encouraged to bid in a silent auction for their favorite player’s jersey. In all, the Wizards raised, $3,020 for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
“The response from Wizards fans and family was amazing,” said General Manager Mike Nutter. “The Vera Bradley Foundation is a great organization to work with, and we were extremely pleased to help them in their effort for breast cancer research.”

In October, the Step Toward a Cure event will be held once again in Seekonk, MA. Over one hundred men, women, children and dogs have participated annually in this walk and luncheon for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. This is the third consecutive year and, with its amazing history, we are sure it will be a record-breaking party!

Fresh Produce, a company known for their colorful and vibrant casual resort and sportswear lines, also has a strong history of promoting good corporate citizenship. This October, Fresh Produce will add the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer to its list of non-profit organizations contributions, and we couldn’t be more delighted! All twelve of their nationwide, corporate-owned stores will host simultaneous events on October 11, donating 10% of their proceeds to the Foundation.
Darcie Weinman, retail marketing manager, says, “We’re proud to support Vera Bradley’s efforts to find a cure and know that our customers are, too. Plus, we love pink!”
Crabtree & Evelyn also invites you to visit their stores in October. Proceeds from their plush robe and slippers packaged with the famous 60-Second Fix will be donated to the Vera Bradley Foundation.
