Friends of the Foundation Day at the 2008 Outlet Sale
Fort Wayne, Indiana (April 30, 2008) — Today is the first day of the Vera Bradley Outlet Sale. What makes this day extra special is that it is Friends of the Foundation Day, a special preview day when 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales benefits the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. We are pleased to report that ticket sales alone raised $137,5000 for the Foundation, a tribute to your dedication to funding research to find a cure for this devastating disease. In fact, tickets sold out in 13 minutes! From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!
We are also thrilled to share with you some of the exciting things sale-goers will be able to do at the sale today. At the sale, the Foundation will be debuting a life-sized pink pledge ribbon that will be traveling to various locations and events, including Turn the Town Pink and the Vera Bradley Classic Women’s Golf and Tennis Tournament. Women will have the chance to sign the ribbon and make a pledge to themselves to do their monthly breast self-exams and get their annual mammograms. This is a reminder for all of us about the importance of taking our health into our hands and raising breast cancer awareness.
In addition, a one-of-a-kind handmade Vera Bradley quilt made from the Foundation’s breast cancer awareness pattern Pinwheel Pink will be on display at the sale. And anybody who makes a donation of $5 to the Foundation’s Turn the Town Pink campaign will be automatically entered to win the quilt. (The drawing will occur during the weekend of the Classic.)
Again, thank you for your continued effort to the Foundation!
