Foundation Colors

Inspiration in full bloom:
The history of our Breast Cancer awareness colors

From Return to Happiness to Loves Me …, Vera Bradley has designed special Breast Cancer awareness patterns to benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer, founded in 1998.

“The Product Development team looks forward to developing the Breast Cancer awareness color taking trends into account,” Foundation Executive Director Catherine Hill says. “All patterns have a touch of pink … pink is the new black!”

A portion of the proceeds of sales of these colors benefit the Foundation, raising funds for breast cancer research. To date, sales have contributed nearly $3 million to the Foundation.

Why does Vera Bradley do it? “It’s the perfect expression of our company’s hope for a cure” says Veronique Poudrier, Vera Bradley Senior Director of Design and Product Development. “The majority of us have been impacted by breast cancer in some way. Whether we have had it ourselves or have known a family member or a friend who has suffered, these colors give inspiration and confidence that one day no lives will be impacted by the disease. They represent hope for the future.”

Customers across the county write to tell us how the products have touched them. For many, the products symbolize a sisterhood of women bonded in this effort to end breast cancer.
